No, it’s not about my new instrument..rather, it’s a piece I ‘ve done with a friend of mine, Perry Slade. (go to his site for more great photography, as well as the original images used here). Music is by me..saxophone by Ken Simon c/o my pal Bil Byrant and his fine company Powerfx in Stockholm. The piece is based on the transition from the new Harlem Renaissance of giants like Ralph Ellison and Langston Hughes to the New Renaissance of Barack Obama. The portraits of Hughes and Ellison are not from Perry, but all the rest are.

There’s a big choice coming for all of us in the United Parking Lot of America….and though I would have preferred Dennis Kucinich as a candidate..we are living in (for those of you not here) a place where basic principles like universal health care, free GOOD education, and the immediate end of the illegal occupation of Iraq are still “debatable”. Perry and I made this..not for any $$; we did it for free..or for some nefarious connection to some nefarious connection..because..”we think so”….and we hope..(if not for us, but for our children)..that enough of you will agree..time to move on it.
